Bellevue City Council candidate debates, position 4 & 6

KBCS held Bellevue City Council candidate debates for position 4 and 6. The two candidates running for position 4 are longtime businessman and Bellevue’s mayor, Conrad Lee. Lee has been with the council since 1993. His challenger is Lyndon Heywood. Heywood is a graphic artists, and he’s on Redmond’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Board, its Bicycle Wayfinding Subcommittee, and volunteers at Phantom Lake School.

Candidates Lynne Robinson and Vandana Slatter both challenged longtime City Councilman Don Davidson and defeated him in the primary for position 4. Lynne Robinson is a physical therapist who is on the Bellevue Parks and Community Services Board, and has been on the Bellevue Network on Aging. Lynne received 48 percent of the vote in the primary. Vandana Slatter works for Amgen, and has been a clinical researcher for 25 years. She also has served on the State Board of Pharmacy. Vandana earned 26 percent of the vote in the primary. KBCS held this debate in partnership with reporter Venice Buhain.
