Wednesday, June 24th - 8:30 PM at Tractor Tavern | Join Us
KBCS is proud to bring you an evening of two uniquely independent artists who have built something entirely on their own terms. On June 24 at Tractor Tavern, Big Richard brings their brand of bluegrass to Seattle alongside Minor Gold, and neither of them got here by asking permission.
About the Artists
Big Richard
Big Richard showed up to their first gig in homemade puff paint t-shirts. They dressed intentionally like Stevie Nicks, armed with crass jokes and tight vocal harmonies. Nobody had a choice but to take them seriously anyway.
Since exploding onto the Colorado scene in 2021, the four women of Big Richard have built something genuinely difficult to ignore. Their sound is fiddle driven and harmony rich. Their songwriting is honest and their energy is relentless. From festival parking lots to nationwide headlining tours, they have accumulated a devoted following of self described Big Richard Heads. Those fans keep coming back for the barn burners and staying for everything else.
Along the way they have played PBS' Cavern Sessions, NPR's World Cafe, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Bourbon and Beyond, and Jam Cruise. Most recently, they rang in New Year's Eve at the Ryman in Nashville. Not bad for a band fueled by gas station snacks.
In January 2025 they released their debut full length studio album Girl Dinner, showcasing the band's many sides. Just over a year later, February 2026 brought Pet. It is a gritty analog recording described as a mirror held up for the sake of honesty. Two albums. Fourteen months.
Big Richard are the self described gremlins of the bluegrass world. The gremlins are platinum recording artist Bonnie Sims on mandolin, fiddle player Eve Panning, bassist Hazel Royer, and Dr. Joy Adams.
Minor Gold
Loud Mouth called them "like Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham at the top of their game." That's Minor Gold.
Tracy McNeil from Canada and Dan Parsons from Australia make up Minor Gold. Together they are an ARIA nominated songwriting duo who have been living life on international highways and backroads since forming in 2022. Their sound blends sixth sense harmonies with sun dappled folk rock. In other words, the kind of music that floats you down desert highways and through coastal canyons.
Their sophomore album Way to the Sun drops July 25. Recorded in California with producer Dan Horne, the album has already landed high rotation on Double J and ABC Country in Australia. Additionally it has found its way onto major playlists globally. Now Minor Gold are bringing it to North America in 2026. Tractor Tavern is one of their stops.
As Double J ABC Radio put it — "Brilliant songwriting and impeccable performances."
