Eric Wolff

Eric is a musician, journalist, and radio programmer living in Seattle’s Central District. Since Winter 2012, Eric has enjoyed sharing music with KBCS listeners that can’t be heard anywhere else on the airwaves. Whether he’s spinning classic performances by the Grateful Dead or funky tracks from the cutting edge of the independent scene, Eric’s dedication to music and the communities that create it is constantly driving him forward.

Eric got his start in radio as a programmer, Music Director and eventually General Manager at Santa Barbara’s renowned community radio station KCSB FM. Through his work at KCSB programming hundreds of shows, hosting and engineering the live on air performances of numerous local artists and leading the year-long celebration of the station’s 50th anniversary, Eric learned first-hand how radio can empower communities.

Now living in Seattle, Eric uses the power of radio to foster the growth and development of local art and culture, and spread ideas that encourage community awareness. Eric works with grassroots media organizations, including KBCS, to help increase access to local radio and ensure that our city’s media landscape reflects the diversity of our community. He is proud to have worked with community organizations that have applied for Low Power FM frequencies and is excited about this opportunity for lots of new voices and community-produced content to be heard on Seattle’s airwaves.

You can hear Eric performing as a bassist and vocalist all over Washington state, and helping out as a programmer on KBCS shows like The Grateful Dead Show, Backtracks, and Uncle Megabhuti and Funkscribe Present.
