Take a look at  some of the businesses that closed in our region in 2018. Vanishing Seattle is a nonprofit organization that documents the displaced and disappearing institutions, small businesses, and cultures of the area, often due to the increasing real estate market prices and changing demographics. In this three-part series, KBCS’s Yuko Kodama interviews Cynthia Brothers, Founder of Vanishing Seattle.

Part 1 – We hear some unique businesses that are no longer found in Seattle

Part 2 – Cynthia speaks about the closure of a laundromat and café in Seattle, and why these types of businesses are so important to their surrounding communities

Part 3 – Cynthia shares some Central District businesses that shuttered in 2018, and some in that neighborhood that are still going strong
