February 23, 2021 - 9:08 am

the Montgomery Bus Boycott was led by Black women of Montgomery after the court trial of four Montgomery women forced, on separate occasions, to give up their bus seat to a white passenger.  This movement ended segregation on buses.

KBCS video and audio Producer, Ruthie Bly joined a Sankofa Impact (formerly Project Pilgrimage) group visiting the site where Rosa Parks boarded the bus leading to her arrest in Montgomery, Alabama. Seattle’s Project Pilgrimage is a non-profit organization offering immersive educational and community building events to learn from the civil rights movement, and stay in conversation on topics of race and equity today.
