Call for Producers: Moving Stories
October 30, 2026 - 12:45 pm
KBCS, 4Culture, and King County Metro are seeking an Audio Storytelling Producer to develop and produce an original series of short audio works.
The producer will join the Moving Stories project, and collaborate with six visual artists who are creating short-form graphic novels inspired by the people, places, and communities connected to Metro’s RapidRide network. Their completed audio series will also form the basis for an approximately one-hour radio special developed in collaboration with KBCS, expected to broadcast in Fall 2027.
We’re looking for someone with experience in documentary audio, podcasting and/or public radio, and collaborative, community-engaged storytelling. The selected producer will lead the creative and technical production of the series, exploring approaches that may include interviews, oral histories, neighborhood soundscapes, narrated essays, experimental audio, and hybrid formats.
