Potential New Legislation To Stop Transgender Bathrooms
Potential Washington state legislation is being criticized as discriminatory toward the transgender community. Initiative 1552 would force transgender people to use bathrooms and locker rooms based on the gender on their birth certificates. Hundreds of friends, family members, and supporters rallied last weekend at the Tacoma Campus of the University of Washington. Their message is to tell signature gatherers “NO to discrimination.” And they are asking people to “Decline to Sign.” KBCS’s David Griffith takes us to a recent rally where several members of the transgender community shared their thoughts.
