KBCS Sustainability Campaign

KBCS Sustainability Campaign

July 10, 2020 - 2:20 pm

The KBCS Sustainability Campaign is underway. The goal of this campaign is to add 1,000 new monthly sustaining donors to the KBCS family of supporters over the next year (July 2020 – June 2021) and make the station financially sustainable.

The funding KBCS receives from individual donor-listeners make up the largest and most important portion of KBCS’s operating budget. It’s how we remain non-commercial and independent.

Due to additional financial constraints created by the fallout from the ongoing  COVID-19 pandemic, Bellevue College will no longer be able to provide supplemental cash funding for KBCS to balance its budget each year. This means, beginning this year (Jul. 1 2020 – June 30 2021), and moving forward, KBCS must increase its yearly financial support by $150,000 to meet this new requirement and balance its budget by June 30, 2021.

Please add your voice of support with others who have done their part to make KBCS sustainable within the next year. If you’ve been listening to KBCS for some time, but have not made a financial contribution, or if it’s been awhile since your last contribution, please make your donation now. It’s more important than ever.

You depend on KBCS for the eclectic mix of local programming you love, and in return, KBCS is depending on you to support this programming with your financial contribution. A contribution of $12.50/month or more from 1,000 donors would provide KBCS the additional funds it needs to have a balanced budget. Please consider a gift at this level today or make a monthly donation at a level that fits your budget and unique circumstances.

After nearly 50 years, KBCS continues to offer a rare broadcast opportunity in the greater Puget Sound region for local volunteers to share their passion for music, news, and the arts with the rest of our community.  KBCS’s existence through the years is a testament to the fact that listeners want to know more about the diverse people, music, and ideas that make up our world, not just the ones that make it into mainstream media. Please, help ensure that KBCS  will be here for years to come by making becoming a contributing-listener, just as the previous  generation make KBCS possible for us to listen to today. Thank you.
