Free Tax Help from United Way King County

Tax season is here, and United Way King County is offering free tax preparation to qualified residents. Beyond filing, they also help maximize refunds through credits like the Earned Income Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Working Families Tax Credit. Appointments are available at locations throughout the area on Fridays in March, both in-person and virtually, in up to seven languages. Find out more at United Way King County.

Free ORCA Cards for Head Start Families

If your child is enrolled in Head Start or a Seattle Public Schools preschool program, your household qualifies for a free ORCA card. The pass covers buses, light rail, streetcars, and the water taxi across King County and neighboring counties. Better yet, it provides free transit through August 2026. Signature Streets: Bellevue’s Neighborhood Cleanup Initiative

The City of Bellevue launched Signature Streets: 26 for 26 — a program committed to picking up litter in every Bellevue neighborhood at least once throughout 2026. Residents report cleanup needs through the MyBellevue app, and the program responds to the highest-need spots first. Volunteers work together with litter grabbers and safety gear on Saturday morning work parties twice a month. The program has already removed 57 bags of trash. Learn more at City of Bellevue.
