KBCS is excited to announce that Ben Brandow will serve as the station’s next General Manager.
Ben joined KBCS as Development Director in September of 2016 and spent the last year serving as the station’s Interim General Manager.
During his time at KBCS, Ben has helped strengthen the station’s financial foundation while deepening relationships across its volunteer, donor, and listener communities.
After nearly a decade at KBCS, Ben is well positioned to help guide KBCS through a changing public media landscape while remaining grounded in the station’s community-centered mission. His development experience will continue to be critical for the station to navigate a future without CPB funding and for finding new avenues of support.
Additionally, his tenure at KBCS has instilled in him a deep appreciation for the station’s rich history, commitment to community, and dedication to uplifting the voices often excluded from the mainstream media.
“KBCS is a testament to our community’s desire to have a more meaningful connection to the media we experience. In a time when we’re witnessing corporate media consolidation happening at an unprecedented rate, public media is more important than ever. I have deep gratitude to the listeners, donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners that have contributed to making KBCS the vibrant station it is today, and I’m honored to lead the station in its next chapter.”
– Ben Brandow
Prior to KBCS, Ben served as Membership Manager for Lakeshore Public Media where he oversaw individual giving for the organization’s public radio and television stations broadcasting in the Chicagoland area. Before that, he served as Membership Manager for High Plains Public Radio with studios in Garden City, KS and Amarillo, TX.
Outside of KBCS, Ben enjoys getting outdoors with his family and soaking up the beauty of the Northwest, rain or shine.
