Abbey Arts will host a pop music concert on Friday, September 6th at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center. This concert will feature Portland duo The Softies, Seattle-based band Seapony, and pop-punk solo artist Lisa Prank.

The UW Botanic Garden will host a natural dyes and pigments art workshop on Saturday, September 7th. Workshop attendees will learn how to create natural dyes from garden plants and how different fabrics react with dyes.

Town Hall Seattle will host a book talk on Tuesday, September 17th. Author David W. Orr will share ideas from his book “Democracy in a Hotter Time” and discuss how to avoid climate chaos and strengthen democratic institutions.

September 18, 2024
Green Seattle Partnership will host a nature restoration event on Wednesday, September 18th at Matthews Beach in Wedgwood. Volunteers will work with GSP staff to weed and clear areas along the beach.

Town Hall Seattle will host a book talk on Wednesday, September 25th. Legal adviser and author Bob Bauer will share passages from his memoir “The Unraveling.” Bauer will also discuss democratic elections and challenges posed by disinformation.

Green Redmond Partnership will host a nature restoration event on Saturday, September 28th at the Viewpoint Open Space Trail in Redmond. Volunteers will work with GRP staff to clear invasives and prepare for fall planting.

Japan Week aims to introduce multiple facets of Japanese culture and to nurture and promote the cultural arts of Japan. The weekdays, Sept. 30 (Mon) through Oct. 4 (Fri), feature lectures and demonstrations for Bellevue College students. Oct. 5 (Sat) is our Matsuri (festival) day open to the general public and to BC students who missed the weekday events.
