KBCS Sustainability Campaign and Fiscal Year are Coming to a Close

KBCS’s Sustainability Campaign and fiscal year are coming to a close on June 30th. Please help KBCS reach our goal of 1,000 new sustainers within the fiscal year (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021) by signing up as a monthly sustaining donor today! (Click Here to Become a Sustainer!)

History of the KBCS Sustainability Campaign

Just before the start of KBCS’s fiscal year on July 1, 2020, Bellevue College announced it would no longer provide annual funding to supplement the station’s budget. (See Original Announcement)

In response, we kicked off our year-long Sustainability Campaign that would coincide with our fiscal year and include a goal of making up for the $150,000 loss in funding from the college within the fiscal year and gaining 1,000 new monthly sustaining donors, so KBCS would start the new fiscal year with firm financial footing.

We’re humbled to announce that thanks to our generous donors, we’ve met our first goal of raising the additional $150,000 needed in order to have a balanced budget at the end of our fiscal year on June 30th. Thank you to all of our amazing donors and sustaining donors who have helped KBCS through this trying time, and kept our programming going strong over the past fiscal year.

With only a few weeks to go, we still need to add 250 sustaining members to help KBCS start the new fiscal year strong and reach our 1,000 new sustainer goal before the end of the sustainability campaign and our fiscal year on June 30th.

If you’ve yet to do so, please become a sustaining member today to help KBCS reach our Sustainability Campaign and Fiscal Year-End goals by June 30th. You can sign up to become a sustaining member on our website here, and thank you in advance.

Again, thank you so much to all of our amazing listener-contributors who have made financial contributions or become sustaining members. We couldn’t do any of this without you, and look forward to continuing to serve you with diverse music and quality news and public affairs programs.

KBCS Fall Fund Drive 2020

The KBCS Fall Fund Drive is underway! Please make a financial contribution today to keep the music, news and information you count on from KBCS going strong.

During our Fall Fund Drive we hope to raise $120,000 towards our overall goal for the year. We’re certain that with your help, and the support of fellow listeners we can accomplish this and keep KBCS viable for our community. The support of our individual donor-listeners makes up 85% of the funding it takes for KBCS to operate, and it’s that independent support that allows us to remain commercial free and independent.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we’re unable to have volunteers in to the station to take donations over the phone, so we’re counting on your support online, and through the mail, more than ever. You can make an online donation here, or, if you’d like to mail a check in support of KBCS, the address to do so is:

Our fall fund drive this year is especially important this year. As you may have already heard, KBCS is in a year long push to raise it’s level of support to become self-sustaining. Due to the financial fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic Bellevue College will no longer be provide supplemental funding to KBCS. This means that KBCS must increase its support by $150,000 during each of its fiscal years (July 1 – June 30) moving forward. You can read more about our Sustainability Campaign here.

We’re humbled to say that the station is seeing a strong outpouring of support from the community and we’re making progress towards our overall year-long goal. While we’re excited about the progress we’ve made so far, there is still a long road ahead for KBCS to reach its overall goal and become sustainable. We hope that we can count on your support today during our fall fund drive and thank you in advance for being the most important part of KBCS.

KBCS Sustainability Campaign

The KBCS Sustainability Campaign is underway. The goal of this campaign is to add 1,000 new monthly sustaining donors to the KBCS family of supporters over the next year (July 2020 – June 2021) and make the station financially sustainable.

The funding KBCS receives from individual donor-listeners make up the largest and most important portion of KBCS’s operating budget. It’s how we remain non-commercial and independent.
