Happy New Year + Thank You!
January 1, 2020 - 12:00 am
Greetings and Happy New Year!
A new year is now upon us and, 2020 heralds KBCS forty-seventh year of broadcasting across the greater Seattle metro.
It’s my pleasure to announce, that because of the generosity of our listener-donors, KBCS has met its year end goal of support and will start the new year with firm footing!
Since 1973, KBCS has remained faithful to our unique community radio format, and thanks to the dedication and hard work of our talented staff, volunteers, and student interns we look forward to continuing this great tradition of diverse radio programming for many more years to come.
Our financial viability as a community radio station is made possible by the loyal and steadfast commitment of our listeners who make regular donations to KBCS. Listener donations make up the largest and most important source of funding for this truly local; not national, public radio service.
We now enter into this fifth decade of broadcast excellence with a renewed commitment to provide even more opportunities for our local volunteer hosts to share their passion for the music they love with our large and growing audience across the greater Puget Sound region.
With the coming the new year, it is traditional that we make a new year’s resolution, and for KBCS our resolution is to continue to celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of our region with new program initiatives that celebrate the lives, cultural traditions, and values of the people who choose to call our beautiful little corner of the world home.
Best wishes from all of us at KBCS,
Dana Buckingham
