Dustbowl Revival brings their genre-hopping American roots sound to Tractor Tavern on Sunday June 21st. Doors open at 7:30pm and the show starts at 8:00pm. This is a 21+ event. KBCS 91.3 is proud to present an evening of funk, folk, soul, and New Orleans swing.
About Dustbowl Revival
Dustbowl Revival is what you could call an American roots orchestra with eight full-time members — and they play it all, mashing the sounds of traditional American music into a genre-hopping, time-bending dance party that coaxes new fire out of familiar coal.
Founded in 2008 in Venice Beach, California, the band combines a funk rhythm and brass section with a fast-picking string band section. The result is a live show unlike most — joyful, free-flowing, and genuinely hard to categorize. The band has opened for Lake Street Dive, Trombone Shorty, and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Festival stages include Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Delfest, and Floydfest. Most remarkably, they toured China as guests of the State Department.
Their music video for "Never Had to Go" featured actor Dick Van Dyke and accumulated over 10 million views. Their most recent work finds the band at the place where funk and folk meet.
