KBCS Partners with OSL

KBCS is partnering with OSL (formerly Operation Sack Lunch), for a one-day fund drive on December 12th. Donate to KBCS by December 12th, and you’ll have the option to provide a meal to a neighbor in need instead of selecting a KBCS thank you gift, and of course, your year-end contribution will support the programs

On Sunday morning, beloved DJ Samia Panni passed away suddenly. Samia exemplified KBCS at its very best. All of us at the station are heartbroken, and offer our deepest condolences to her family, friends and communities.

Border Crossing

The border town of Arivaca, Arizona, is no stranger to migrants crossing through the desert and mountains in hopes for a better life in the U.S. The documentary film Undeterred, shows how militarizing the border can result in migrants dying in the desert and in the neighborhoods of towns on the border. The film was featured at the 2018 Social Justice Film Festival in Seattle. KBCS’s Ruth Bly recorded the panel discussion following the screening.

Thousands of Seattleites joined a nationwide rally on November 8th, 2018, in support of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The Northwest News Network’s Casey Martin reports it comes after President Trump replaced Attorney General Jeff Sessions with a critic of Mueller’s investigation into the Trump campaign.
